Overview

• No user accounts, online forms or payments.
• No tracking cookies, advertising or sale of data.
• Limited audience and product analytics, without entered text or generated names.
• Downloads of published datasets are measured using an event with three predefined download properties.

Data collected and purposes

Technical logs (Cloudflare)

The hosting infrastructure records technical information about requests: IP address, user agent, requested URL, HTTP response code and timestamp.

• Purpose: security, abuse prevention and technical diagnosis.
• Legal basis: legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Audience and product analytics

Nymforge uses audience and product analytics tools, including Cloudflare Web Analytics and PostHog Cloud EU, to understand how the website is used: page views, referrers, device types, useful generator actions and downloads of published datasets.

Events contain limited context and usage information: the page visited, generator used, selected settings, number of displayed results or successful copying. Device type and referring website are also included, as are campaign parameters when present in a link. PostHog derives your country from your IP address, which is not retained; no more precise location is recorded. Nymforge does not send entered text, generated usernames or names, copied values, email addresses, user accounts or a persistent local identifier created by Nymforge.

Clicking the download button for a published dataset, such as the username rules CSV, sends a dataset_downloaded event. Alongside the context described above, Nymforge adds three download properties limited to predefined values: dataset, the dataset name; dataset_format, the file format; and dataset_revision, the published revision date. The purpose is to understand whether the datasets are used and which revision is downloaded. Entered text, usernames, page filters and other page content are not sent with this event.

Providers may load the scripts needed for analytics from their technical domains. PostHog uses its Cloud EU infrastructure. This page will be updated if the nature of the data collected or the purposes of processing change significantly.

• Purpose: understand page visits, useful actions and use of published datasets to improve the website.
• Legal basis: legitimate interests. Under the CNIL’s 2020 guidelines on cookies and trackers, some audience measurement strictly limited to aggregated statistics may be exempt from prior consent. Nymforge uses a deliberately restrictive configuration; more intrusive features would require a new consent review.

Cookies

The website does not set tracking or advertising cookies.

A theme entry in your browser’s localStorage remembers your choice of light or dark theme. This is not an HTTP cookie: it stays on your device and is never sent to the server.

Language preference

When you use the language switch, a nymforge-locale entry in localStorage saves only fr or en. It selects the language when you next visit nymforge.com without a language path. This preference stays on your device and is not sent to the server.

You can change it with the language switch or clear it by deleting the website’s data in your browser. Without a saved preference, the website uses the first French or English language in your browser settings, then English if neither matches. Links to French or English pages always keep their language.

Data recipients

The technical data described above is processed by:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting and audience analytics. Transfers to the United States are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and Cloudflare’s participation in the Data Privacy Framework.
• PostHog, Inc. — product analytics through PostHog Cloud EU. Collection from the website is limited to the EU domains documented by PostHog.

Data is not sent to other third parties or sold.

Retention periods

• Cloudflare technical logs: retained according to Cloudflare’s settings and retention policies.
• Audience and product analytics: events are retained for 12 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data.

To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. There is no user account or identifier linking your visits, so some requests may not be technically applicable. You can also use this address to object to audience measurement.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as the website develops. If Nymforge introduces advertising or affiliate links, a consent banner and a dedicated cookie policy will be put in place, and this page will be updated. The last update date appears below.
